Puppy Portraits at Berkeley Humane
Working with beloved pets and the people who adore them is the heart of what I do as a dog photographer in the San Francisco Bay Area. But every now and then, I get to photograph shelter animals looking for their forever homes, and it's always a special kind of rewarding.
During a recent visit to Berkeley Humane, I had the chance to meet and photograph two incredibly sweet mixed-breed puppies, both boys, both completely camera-ready. Dunn (tan) and Brooks (black&tan) each brought their own kind of charm to the session.
Dunn was mellow and calm, content to just hang out and pose like a seasoned pro. He had this quiet confidence about him, sitting patiently and giving me those soulful puppy eyes that make everyone melt. His soft coat and gentle demeanor made him an instant favorite.
Then there was Brooks, the husky lookalike. Bright-eyed and full of curiosity, he was a whirlwind of puppy energy. What really stood out were his striking eyes, one blue and one brown, thanks to a beautiful case of heterochromia. He looked like a little adventurer in the making, and every photo of him seemed to capture a different side of his spirited personality.
Photographing adoptable animals is one way I love giving back, and it’s always an honor to help them show off their best selves. If you're thinking about adoption, Berkeley Humane is a wonderful place to start. You can learn more about these pups and how to adopt them by visiting berkeleyhumane.org.
And if you’re looking for a San Francisco dog photographer to capture your own pup’s personality, I’d love to work with you. Whether it’s a new addition to the family or just a day in the life with your best friend, I’m here to create portraits that feel honest and joyful.
